Melissa's Turns 9

It was a great joy to shower our 9 year old with some of her favorite things for her birthday. A very excited girl eager to open her presents!

In her last present she received a piece of paper which read:

"How would you like to play a game? 
Complete this treasure hunt to find your final birthday present!

Put on your thinking cap and solve the riddles to find your next clue!

You’re looking good and feeling so fine... heard today’s the day that you turned 9!
Seeing it’s wet outdoors we’ll play inside, find me where you’d like to hide.
If that’s too hard, I’ll give you another clue... I’m on the main floor in a stinky shoe!"

"Wow... you found me, hope I don’t smell... I have another clue that I’d like to tell.
I’m where it’s cold, keeps food from mold.
On the right side is where I’ll hide!"

"Brrr... so glad I’m found, here’s a clue for another round!
When the night comes and it’s getting late, you lay your head on me and count to eight 
(hey it rhymes)."

"*Yawn* oh are we still playing?!? I guess that’s what I hear you sayin’!
Okay... 1, 2, 3, 4, that’s right I’m on the bottom floor!
I’m soft and fuzzy, a place to sleep... especially for some fuzzy peeps!"

"BOO! ... So sorry, did I scare you? You say you’re looking for ANOTHER clue?!?
Glad you’re having fun, for you I have another one!
I’m made of leather and colored white, I sit near where there’s natural light! Come find me!!!"

Don't have a photo for this find, but it was in our living room in the white leather chair (the one she was sitting on to open presents!)

"Getting tired? Do you need a rest... I’m sure that’s when you’re at your best!
That’s enough resting! You’ll need to keep guessing.
I’m in a pile of dirty clothes... it’s certainly not what I chose!"

"Oh boy this job is hard... I’m glad that you’re a star.
Let’s say these clothes were clean... I’m in that white machine."

"I feel much better... now how about you? You’re still looking at me for another clue?
Okay I confess I have one more. As long as you don’t find this a chore.
I’m hiding where there isn’t much room, unless you are a plastic spoon." 

No photo, but next clue was found in the cutlery drawer with Brody's utensils. 

 

"Oh HI! You found me once more. Those spoons didn’t talk, it was such a bore.
Let’s get back to it, please don’t have a fit!
I’m in a box... hope there isn’t a fox. It’s filled with soft cuddly guys, with hard plastic eyes.

No photo, next clue was found in a box in Brody's closet which is full of stuffies. 

"Well, well, what can I say. This has been a real fun game to play!
I’m down 28 stairs, where there are lots of cat hairs!
I’m smelling a strong smell “Ewwwe-weeeee”... I think this is where the cats go to pee! 

(Come quickly!!!)"

And there in the basement closet was a new 20" 5 speed bike!!!
We are looking forward to summer and many family bike rides :)
