Computers

Tonight after dinner, Ken settled down with his laptop to get some work done. Soon enough Melissa joined him...
Figuring there was a bit of room left on our little table I pulled up a chair and a computer...
Family computing! (I by far have the best computer though :)

Odds & Ends

I finally emptied my camera... here are the odds and ends of things I found picture worthy in the last week (or more).

On a past trip to the grocery store I found these little toe rings (which are basically a really small ring that is adjustable in size). Turns out they are a perfect fit for a little girl's fingers. Melissa can be found wearing them quite frequently, and never will wear just one at a time!!!

One night while I was making dinner, Crash (our cat) was taking a nap on the couch. Melissa decided that he was sleepy and needed a book read to him to help him fall asleep. I know he appreciated it...

Melissa is really fun to listen to as she reads a story she has heard us read to her before, she remembers certain parts of each page, or if not, she makes something up!

Last Friday when I went to pick up Ken from the airport, Nana & Pop came by to babysit Melissa (as she needed to go down for her nap). It was a picture op when they all were on the floor doing Melissa's puzzles. In this picture Melissa is helping Pop do his puzzle, as I think he was having some troubles!

Last night we got around to building our gingerbread Christmas Train. Melissa was more than excited with this candy craft. I asked her to smile for the camera...

Detailing the caboose...

Our final masterpiece... yum, yum!

Christmas at the Klassen's

A little late on the Klassen Christmas photos, but nevertheless here they are! (I was waiting on getting my hands on photos taken by Jason as he had some great ones).

Nani's Christmas tree, bustling with gifts waiting to be opened by the grandchildren...

The annual reading of the Christmas story with little book & figurines.
(note the grey cat Jerry is clinging on to hope that everyone will leave him alone to his nap!)

The marathon gift opening begins...

A little book reading intermission...

Melissa receives a trunk filled with dress-up princess clothes...

She wasted no time in dressing up...

Next she received a beautiful pair of butterfly wings...

and a tail...

which was a little perky!

Didn't take long and our little girl had transformed into a tourist, drummer, mouse, butterfly, princess!

It was apparent by the end of the night she was all Christmas'ed out!

Smart Cyclers

Last night Melissa got to try out Kiera's "Smart Cycle" bike. An interactive TV game where you pedal the the bike on a simple road course to collect letters & play side games. Melissa could have played on it all night! What a great way to let your kid watch TV, learn and get exercise!

A little tandem riding...

Little Houdini

Since we removed the crib rail on her bed, Melissa has been abusing the luxury of getting out of bed on her own. Two days ago I finally installed this childproof door knob cover to keep her in her room. It only really worked one time, I think it was cause it caught her off guard. I had to ask her how she was doing it, and this is what she showed me!

Fish Brurella

Today Melissa got her very own umbrella... so she had to try it out. Luckily the weather was very cooperative!

Melissa's cute pronunciation of umbrella is "brurella"
