Story time with Papa

At the cabin, Papa did story time each night for the older three grandchildren...

 

Nani had brought some glow-stick glasses for the grandchildren which were such a hit that Melissa wore them to sleep :)

Brody's Birthday Party at the Cabin

We celebrated Brody's 1st birthday with my family at the cabin...

Brody received a pull string hen which clucks & lays eggs! Fitting gift as Papa has a bunch of egg laying hens :) Brody loved putting the eggs in the hen...

The cake - this one was not up to my usual standards - but hey we were at the cabin! Brody was starting to like this treatment! Another round of presents & cake all within a few days of each other!

Just checkin if he was allowed to put his hands in it again! And why are they all standing around and singing to me?!?

"The Back" at Green Lake

There is a spot we always head to as a family when we are up at the cabin. We follow a path leaving the back side of the cabin that heads through a forested area, then to a large clearing. This place is lovingly called "the back" and it normally is a lunching spot, but this time due to napping schedules we went for an afternoon snack :)

Swimming in Green Lake

The morning after we arrived at the cabin we all headed to the lake for a little swim.

Annie (Papa & Nani's dog) was keeping a close eye on everyone and was worried for our safety! She would swim out whenever Papa would call her, but she preferred watching from the shore...

Skihist on the way to the Cabin

On our way to the family cabin at Green Lake we made our usual lunch stop at the beautiful Skihist Provincial Park just minutes past Lytton.

When we arrived, Melissa mysteriously wasn't as hungry as she was in the vehicle! She got busy picking the thin pieces of bark off of the "puzzle" trees...

Brody was fascinated by the large pine needles all around...

As usual we were there for a train passing by in the canyon below. This time two trains in opposite directions passed through at the same time!

Unfortunately it was a CN train, but still neat to watch ;)

Back on the road again... very excited to be going to the cabin!
