Undersea Gardens - Victoria

Another tourist attraction that we visited on our stay in Victoria was the Undersea Gardens situated in this boat right off the main waterfront.
After descending 15 feet below the water's surface, we were able to view various forms of sea-life...

The biggest hit for Melissa was this under-sea petting zoo where she could touch starfish, tube-worms and all sorts of other stationary sea life...

We enjoyed a live show where scuba diver Matt, went into the tank which this theatre faced and he showed us various interesting sea creatures...

Here is a clip of Matt showing us this friendly octopus. The octopus seemed eager to do his thing with Matt, as he came charging up from some back hidden corner when he saw Matt in the water! (quite surprising as they do this show every hour!)

Fisherman's Warf - Victoria

On our last afternoon in Victoria we went for a walk, to the left of our hotel as we hadn't headed that way yet.
As we were walking down the sea-wall, 4 or 5 of these water planes landed right beside us!
Thrilling as it was, Melissa was running around covering her ears...
We ended up walking to the Fisherman's Warf where there were over a dozen merchants based out of little shops that were floating along the boardwalk...
We met a local celebrity/seal who knew very well what she wanted. She lingered near the boardwalk waiting for someone to feed her fish...
She was certainly well fed... the picture doesn't do her size justice!
Melissa looking into her big eyes...
Who could resist :)
A "street" of floating houses...
Melissa & I needed some fuel for the walk back to our hotel, so we snacked on some ice cream. Melissa's ice cream was Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and I had the Moose Tracks (which was vanilla ice cream & peanut butter cups & nuts... yum!)

Green Lake Cabin

Our annual Green Lake (past 70 Mile) cabin trip is a much anticipated holiday for the family. Melissa has been eagerly asking when we would go for many months now.

We're on our way, it's approximately a 5 hour drive. Melissa travelled really well thanks to her endless supply of DVD's. I really wish we had a DVD player for the car when I travelled as a kid!
Our lunch stop, just past Lytton, at Skihist...

We arrive... cousins Lexi & Xander had been there for over a week, and Melissa got right into playing with them, here in the inflatable kayak...
We didn't realize what these two were up to until we looked through Jason's photos later. Thanks to Xander's neighbour's smoking habits, Xander was smoking a stick and Melissa a piece of grass...
Puffin' away... she's much too young :(
Playing t-ball...
Picking tiny wild strawberries...
First night's sleep, she was out cold, and sleeping sideways...
Cousins playing Monopoly Jr., Xander is banker & player, and there was no difference between his money & the bank's!
Our neighbour took us out to play with his water toys one afternoon...

Xander nervously watches his parents play...

Dangling their feet in the green lake...
A little relaxation in the hammock...
Celebrating Papa & Nani's 35th anniversary with a special dinner...
Bath time... probably her last time to fit in this sink!
Playing lakeside
Ken & Papa have a water fight!
Cooling off in the lake. Annie, Papa's dog, kept swimming out to check that Papa was okay... she was such a worry-wart!

Melissa found a little friend

Drying off with (on) Daddy...

Yummy & very sticky smore's...
Games night, playing Bingo...
A beautiful sunset...
Melissa driving the Quad...
A final family pic before we headed home...

First Salon Haircut

Today I took Melissa to my hairdresser for a real haircut! We had a little wait time before our turn, so Melissa got comfortable in the car barber chair, which turned out to be a hit!
Getting her bangs thinned... Lisa lectured on me on my skills, and told Melissa not to let me cut her hair any more! It wasn't that bad was it???

Our little lady :)
