Melissa & I have this little "white" board that we write notes to each other on. This is one of my favorite ones she did for me awhile back. We have this is little thing we do to one another, the "I Love U" hand symbol... here she drew it for me :)
Incase you are having a hard time visualizing it, this is the symbol:
So we started the New Year, January 1st, with Brody's first time trying solid foods which was rice cereal. He wasn't quite 6 months - he was 23 weeks old to be exact - and he wasn't quite ready, but we had fun with it and made it a special family moment! Today, 7 weeks later - as I write this, he has certainly grown into eating solids, and it is a fun event we enjoy several times a day.
He sits directly across from his sister which he just loves to watch!
I wanted to make special Valentines with the kids' hands/footprints for their grandparents this year. Melissa joined me yesterday at the computer to put their prints into a card. So a lot of the layout (especially on hers) is influenced by her :) Happy Valentine's to you all :) xoxo
Brody went on his first "playdate" today with Spencer. Honestly, there wasn't much playing really involved... more just them looking at each other. Brody did try to chat a bit to Spencer, and Spencer showed Brody his Jolly Jumper moves... boy did he put Brody to shame! We'll see if Brody picked up any new tricks next time he goes for a jump!
Much to our surprise, Brody doesn't really get excited about jumping in the Jolly Jumper (quite the opposite actually). This was Melissa's favorite thing to do. Today I put him in and got a few minutes of him enjoying himself... but it was short lived :P
Last week I was surprised with the spelling test words that Melissa came home with. It wasn't till the day before the test that I saw them, so we only had one night to cram in some serious memorization. I was very proud of her when she brought home a 9/10!
The last few days we have had spectacular sunshine, and it's only February! I have been doing as much as I can to soak it up. On Saturday afternoon we set up a blanket which Melissa did her Valentines cards for her classmates on, while Brody & I watched.
