This past weekend we went to the Mission Santa Parade. This year the weather was much milder (last year there was still some snow left on the ground). But we bundled all the same! The girls were excited and claimed their sidewalk curb to watch as the parade began.
The fire trucks started off the parade... sirens & horns a blazing!

My favorite float, a truck carrying a large, very large Christmas tree. It had to raise & lower the tree to go under power lines!
Decorating for Christmas this year has been so enjoyable, as Melissa finds such joy in all the sights, sounds and smells of the season. We set up our regular Christmas trees, and Melissa wanted to be a part of this as much as she possibly could. She insisted on me taking her photo (like the last two years) with our 3' fiber optic Christmas tree. To see a flashback click here. Cluster decorating... Our tree, fully decorated. Funny how she never commented in the morning when she woke up and all the decorations were spread out evenly :)
I love how much Melissa enjoys going to Preschool. I also love that once a month they share with us some of the things they learned. This month's theme was autumn, leaves, orange & yellow... and nuts!

Melissa treasures her special time with Nani. When we drop her off, she is eager for us to leave so she can have Nani all to herself. She often cries when we return, she is never ready to leave.

Last week into this week we had some special visitors come from Toronto for a visit... Uncle John (Ken's brother) and cousin Luca. We spent as much time with them as we could, as it has been quite awhile since we last saw them (over two years... see this post for pics from his last visit).
On Monday we all went to the Vancouver Aquarium.

For the past week Melissa kept asking if tonight was the night she got to go Trick-or-Treating... "when I knock on doors and people give me candy!" What a great concept... only happens once a year!

Last school day of the month at Melissa's Preschool once again was a "Party Day". On top of that, it was the day before Halloween, so the kids got to wear their Halloween costumes to class.

We got there early to make sure to get a great seat... and we secured front row center!
