Zoo Visit

Today we went to the zoo on our playdate with Haley & Milan.
The girls (& moms) took in all the animals sights, sounds, & smells.

Melissa has become quite fond of eating wraps with us. Here she is eating a tuna wrap that Dad made for her ... probably the longest one yet!!!

Swimming Lessons

This past Friday Melissa started her first "duck" swimming lessons at the ARC. She really seemed to enjoy herself in the water.

25 year old pink dress

A few weeks back my mother gave me a few special clothing items from when I was a young girl. Included in these items was a special pink dress that my Grandma Stobbe had sewn for me to wear to my Aunt's wedding. The dress made its appearance at many a special occasion for as long as it would fit. As you can see I couldn't pass up the opportunity to put Melissa in it, and she enjoyed modeling it around the house.

Summer Fun

Yesterday Melissa & I enjoyed the hot summer weather in our backyard.

First we played in a "Gazillion Bubbles"...

Then we took a dip (with just our feet) in her 'pool'.

Drawing on demand

Lately Melissa has been really into drawing with her new washable markers. She is more than happy to draw to your specifications.

Colby visits

This morning Melissa's friend, 21 month old Colby, came to play. They both seemed to enjoy their independent play next to each other! A couple of months ago Colby was so much younger and smaller than Melissa... and this visit it seemed the age & size gap was a lot closer! (actually Colby has passed Melissa in height)

Now that Mother's Day is over I can post these pics of Melissa (as they were gifts for her grandma's).

Little Gardener

Yesterday Melissa brought me her watering can and asked for water. So I filled it up. To my surprise she started watering my flowers! I had to run for the camera :) What a great helper! Now if she would learn to spread her watering around, rather than just buckets & buckets for one particular spot...

Playdate

Last night Lina & Celeste came over to play with us. They are moving to Kamloops in about 10 days, and we are definitely going to miss our play times together. The two girls have known each other since 4 months.

Celeste was mighty fascinated by Melissa's Dora house... it kept her occupied for some time!
