Othello Tunnels

This summer we wrote a "Summer Bucket List" as a family. We plan to work very hard to knock as many of the things off through the summer months. One of the items on our list was to visit the Othello Tunnels. 

  

 

 

Gutsy Walk

A few weekends back we joined our family on the Gutsy Walk around Mill Lake.

As we were walking across the parking lot to get there, Brody tripped and skinned his knees. Lucky for us, there was a team of firefighters on scene to administer band-aids :)

Melissa seized the opportunity to sit in the fire engine...

 

There was a great turnout, and we did two laps of Mill Lake...

After the family had a nice picnic lunch together :)

Pretty New Road

Recently we had some very exciting activity on the streets in our neighborhood. They were putting in a "pretty new road" as Brody refers to it! (I think I must have explained it to him using that term and that became how he referred to it - even to this day!)

After dropping Melissa off at the bus stop we stuck around the equipment, taking in all the action! This is the "Milling Machine" which cuts & grinds the old blacktop

ejecting it into the continuous line-up of dump trucks! 

When we came home, Brody simulated everything with his toy trucks...

A couple of days later, the paving crew was on scene...

Brody absorbed so much of this construction operation and still to this day is making pretty new roads with his trucks! Such a boy :)

Doll Fashion Show

Melissa had some girlfriends over for a playdate with their AmericanGirl Dolls. The girls organized a fashion show and all strutted their stuff for the camera!

Spring "Around the World" Recital

 

Melissa's tap-dance trio's song was themed on Greece. I took my photos and video at the dress rehearsal right up against the stage (just explaining the angle!)

We certainly miss EDN Studios and are so sad that it is closed indefinitely. This year Melissa is hoping to get into gymnastics (she is currently on the wait-list at Twisters) and is taking ice skating in lieu.
