Since receiving her play food set for Christmas, Melissa is always eager to "eat" in her little kitchenette set.
Recently Melissa has become very interested in our digital camera. It has made taking pictures of her much trickier, as the second I bring it out, she looses all interest in what she was doing and wants to see the screen. If I am lucky enough to get her to pose for me, she often has this silly face on as she is saying "cheese!". Then once I take the picture she rushes over to me to see what it looked like.
There is no doubt that Melissa is following in my footsteps when it comes to shopping! Nana got her a little shopping cart & food set that she can scan in the items and learn about them. It's too much fun and such a great learning tool! Thank-you Nana.
For the past five days Ken has had the flu, and not mildly. It has been hard for Melissa not being able to play with her Daddy. We have been keeping busy making drawings for him to help him feel better soon. I must say, I am now a firm believer in the flu shot, as Melissa & I got one this year (not Ken) and we have been able to sustain health thus far. I am very thankful.
At Nani's this weekend Melissa started to maneuver in a new way... saying "doo-doo-doo". You can see it here on the following clips. Lucky she got it on video, cause I haven't seen it quite like this since, and it would have been hard to imagine.
On this second one, I find the funniest part is my Dad is dangling his arms around in the background. Grandparents... they just can't get enough!
>> I have been informed that this video doesn't work for you guys. This is due to my chosen settings on YouTube - which I've set this video as private rather than public. If you would like to see it, either leave me a comment or email me and I can send you a direct link to the video, as it is by "invite" only :) Sorry guys.
I must admit that we don't take Melissa out to dinner very often (only twice before). So tonight we decided to go for dinner as a family to Pizza Hut. It ended up being a great time for all, and she exceeded all of our expectations.
